SHOOTING STAR COMICS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR CREATIVE TALENT
Expansion of company allows opportunity for writers and
artists to work on new projects
Shooting Star Comics will be on the lookout for both new talent and
veteran comic creators to showcase their work in future Shooting Star
Comics Anthologies and other special projects to be released over this
next year.
Editor-in-Chief, Sean Taylor, announced Monday that the Shooting Star
Comics Anthology has been placed on a quarterly schedule with the
addition of at least five other spin-off titles in the coming year. Truly,
this is an opportune time for expansion for the independent comic company
who plans to add other titles to the publishing schedule for select high
quality projects.
Taylor comments, "We're always looking for quality books to add to
the imprint under the guidelines laid out for what we're calling Project
Deputy. As to the specifics of what we're looking for, the sky's the
limit. We'll consider any genre, as long as it's done well, and any art
style from highly indy to commercial standards. Mainly, we are looking for
new voices with something fresh to say in graphic storytelling."
Shooting Star is also looking to expand their comic titles by acquiring
the rights to licensed multimedia properties and also hopes to cooperate
in joint ventures with other comic creators to revive
gone-but-not-forgotten fan favorite titles of the past. Other projects
being looked at will include publishing recognizable public domain
characters and allowing creators to publish their own imprint under the
Shooting Star Comics publishing house.
Shooting Star Comics also lists guidelines and provides submission forms
on the website (www.shootingstarcomics.com)
for submitting proposals and work for consideration.

something strange about Aunt Ellie. When they discover a magical doorway
in her basement, and a startling secret about her pet cat, they know for
sure.

to get help from a good sorceress. Instead, he gets Kevin, Katie,
